Anthony Rowcliffe, importers of quality cheese and charcuterie based in Paddock Wood, Kent, has been chosen as runner-up for an Award for Achievement by employment charity Tomorrow's People.

The firm has been selected as runner-up in the category 'Employer of the Year', for helping the long-term unemployed get back to work.

Representatives of the company attended the Tomorrow's People annual Awards for Achievement at Plaisterers' Hall on Wednesday 12th November. The Awards for Achievement pay tribute to people who have overcome significant barriers in their quest to get back to work and to partner organisations that deserve special recognition for their support. The 'Employer Of The Year Award' is awarded to organisations which play a role in furthering the work of Tomorrow's People.

Tomorrow's People first begun working with Anthony Rowcliffe in 2007, when the firm's Operations Manager became interested in the charity's work and felt that the business had a role to play in helping long-term unemployed people get into work. Within three months, Anthony Rowcliffe had employed eight Tomorrow's People clients!

The unique partnership between the two organisations means that Anthony Rowcliffe have the opportunity to employ ready-to-work candidates from the local area. Tomorrow's People has a good understanding of the Anthony Rowcliffe business requirements and ensures these are met when recommending clients for interviews.

Gemma Johnson. HR Manager commented, "Anthony Rowcliffe is pleased to be able to help local people who have faced difficulties trying to find sustainable employment. Working with Tomorrow's People means we have access to better quality information regarding prospective employees, and we have every confidence that Tomorrow's People will provide the right candidates for the positions available."

Paula Guy, Employment Coordinator for Tomorrow's People in Kent commented "I feel that they have gone above and beyond the call of duty to help our clients into employment. In turn, we have ensured that the right calibre of clients are sent to Anthony Rowcliffe as prospective job candidates."
