In 2004 an independent evaluation by Oxford Economic Forecasting found that in it first 20 years, Tomorrow's People helped 382,000 people move towards their goal of getting work.

165,000 found work and 50,000 more were helped towards further education, training or voluntary work. Crucially, the jobs were sustainable: 90% were still employed three months later.

These achievements have directly benefited the economy and society. Benefits to the Exchequer include reduced unemployment benefits and increased tax receipts, while wider benefits to society include the improved health of those who find work, reduction in child poverty, social exclusion and crime. Overall, Oxford Economic Forecasting estimated the benefits to society of the first 20 years to be around £450 million.

For every £100 spent by Tomorrow's People, society is better off by £160.
