Patricia Vaz

Until she retired in 2003 Patricia was Managing Director of UK customer Service for BT, and before that, she was Director, Supply Management, responsible for BT's £5bn annual procurement spend. Patricia started her career with BT in 1975, joining the company as a clerical officer and working her way up, gaining extensive experience in a number of disciplines across the company. In May 1995, Patricia was awarded the title of Veuve Clicquot (UK) Business Woman of the Year in recognition of her work as Director, BT Payphones.

Patricia's other awards and honours include being made an OBE for 'Services to telecommunications' in 2002, being awarded the 'The Customer Service Strategy of the year Award' at the National Business Awards in 2002 and being recognised by HM The Queen as a Pioneer of the Nation.

Patricia now concentrates her energies on the directorships she holds with three charities - the Roffey Park Management Institute; Tomorrow's People; and Raising the Roof.
