Stelio Stefanou

Stelio Stefanou successfully steered the sale of Accord plc to Enterprise plc, a 3i backed business, in 2007. He was chief executive of Accord plc from 1999 to 2005 and chairman from 2005 to 2007. From 1987 to 1999 he was chief executive of John Doyle Group and was substantially involved in its growth strategy. Before joining John Doyle Group, he held senior positions at Esso (UK).

He was chairman of the CBI Eastern Region, chairman of the Hertfordshire Learning & Skills Council and a Board member of the East of England Development Agency. Until recently he was chairman of the CBI Local Government Panel and a member of the CBI Public Services Strategy Board.

He was awarded the OBE for Services to Business in 2004 and an Honorary Doctorate of Letters from the University of Westminster Business School in 2007. In 2008, he formed the Stefanou Foundation, a charitable trust. As well as being on the Tomorrow's People Board, he is patron of Hertfordshire Action on Disability.
