Annual Awards for Achievement 2007

On 30 October the culmination of a year’s hard work was celebrated at the Tomorrow’s People Annual Awards for Achievement. The event was attended by the short-listed candidates, their guests and advisers, as well as the Tomorrow’s People staff, Board and patrons, corporate supporters and sponsors.

The evening kicked off with the awards to our corporate and community supporters – Global recruitment specialists Alexander Mann won Corporate Supporter of the Year, with law firm Pinsent Masons as runner-up.

Community Partner of the Year Award went to Chrisp Street Health Centre in Tower Hamlets, with Family Action in Rogerfield and Easterhouse (FARE) from Glasgow as runner-up.

Employer of the Year was awarded to office technology provider Pitney Bowes, with the Brixton branch of Marks and Spencer as runner-up.

Ambassador of the Year award was won by Baroness Fookes our Patron in Plymouth for over ten years.

The first of the individual awards for Personal Achievement (16-25) was won by Anthony Armstrong from Merseyside, with Leslie Wright from Brighton as the runner-up.

The Award For Personal Achievement (25+) went to Gordon Ackrell of Plymouth, with Susan Begg from Bow as runner-up.

The Roger Sterba Achievement Against Adversity Award went to Paul McNeill of Glasgow, whilst Matthew Huggins of Hastings was runner-up.

A new award – the Working It Out Team Challenge - was won by the Fair Group team from Glasgow. Seven of the young people on the team collected the award.
