Annual Awards for Achievement 2008

On 12th November the culmination of a year's hard work was celebrated at the Tomorrow's People Annual Awards for Achievement. The event was attended by the short-listed candidates, their guests and advisers, as well as Tomorrow's People staff, Board, Patrons, Vice Patrons, Ambassadors corporate supporters and sponsors.

The evening kicked off with the awards to our corporate and community supporters - European Law Firm SJ Berwin LLP for whom we were 'charity of the year' until this November, won Corporate Supporter of the Year, with global pharmaceutical firm AstraZeneca who support Tomorrow's People in Brixham, as runner-up.

Community Partner of the Year Award went to Merseyside-based Aston Healthcare, with Hastings and Bexhill Wood Recycling Project as runner-up.

Employer of the Year was awarded to Camber Sands Holiday Park, and Kent based family firm Anthony Rowcliffe and Sons were runner-up.

Ambassador of the Year award was won by Ken Pye, our Merseyside Patron who has done a fantastic job in his year in the role.

The first of the individual awards for Personal Achievement (16-25) was won by Tedros Hagos from Working It Out in Southwark, with Kelly-Jo Jones from Hastings as the runner-up.

The Award For Personal Achievement (25+) went to Chris Hughes of Hastings, with George Knight as runner-up.

The Roger Sterba Achievement Against Adversity Award went to Donna Morel from Hastings, and Ian McGhee from Merseyside was runner-up.

The Working It Out Team Challenge of the Year - was won by Professional Party People from Plymouth. Three of the young people on the team collected the award.
