This Policy applies to all actual and prospective employees, and to participants and visitors to the Trust’s locations.
The Trust is committed to equality of opportunity in all of its activities, and will not tolerate discrimination whether on the grounds of sex, sexual orientation, national or ethnic origin, religion, political belief, marital status, family responsibility, age, disability or part-time status.
The Trust will endeavour to train all its employees and induct all participants on the application of this Policy as soon as possible so that discrimination on any of the above grounds is avoided at work within the Company.
The Equal Opportunities policy forms part of the induction of staff and all staff receive updates and training as appropriate on changes in legislation.
Tomorrow's People Trust also ensures appropriate publications, literature and networks are used for all external employee/participants recruitment campaigns including the ethnic press, local community organisations and disability specific organisations.
Tomorrow's People Trust also actively encourages partnerships with other organisations whose remit is to assist disadvantaged people back into work.
Any employee or participants who feels that they have been discriminated against on any of the above-stated grounds must promptly raise the matter, employees with the appropriate member of the Management Committee or line manager and participants by use of the Complaints procedure. All complaints on these grounds are investigated wherever possible.
Any breach of this Policy is likely to be regarded as gross misconduct, rendering all employees responsible to disciplinary action including summary dismissal, and participants liable to removal from any Trust run activities.
