National employment charity Tomorrow's People has been helping long-term unemployed people back into work for 25 years. On June 30th the charity held an evening drinks reception at the Sallis Benney Theatre, part of the University of Brighton on Grand Parade, to mark the occasion.

A charity that has been helping long-term unemployed people to get and keep a job, celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. Specialist national employment charity Tomorrow's People held a drinks reception in London's Living Room at City Hall on Tuesday 9th June to mark the occasion. The event was attended by the charity's London based staff, as well as partner organisations, individual supporters and those with a particular interest in employment issues.

Employment charity expands innovative programme for disadvantaged young people in Scotland

Unemployment in Scotland is rising. No one is more conscious of this than national employment charity Tomorrow’s People, which since 1984 has been helping marginalised young people in Glasgow to move into work or training or back into education. In fact, the charity has earned so much respect from its work with young people that it has won funding from Inspiring Scotland to expand its successful Working It Out programme to four new areas; Edinburgh, Inverclyde and North and East Ayrshire.

National employment charity Tomorrow's People will launch its free recruitment service to local businesses at a breakfast event on February 24th at Brasserie Blanc, Bakers& Cutlers' Hall, central Bristol.

Tomorrow's People is responding to the difficult economic environment by providing an innovative new service in partnership with local business to help companies reduce recruitment costs.

Inspiring Scotland help us expand the Working It Out programme

Tomorrow's People has won £3.2m worth of funding from Inspiring Scotland to help us expand the Working It Out programme in Scotland.

The funding will support the scaling up of the programme model we currently deliver in Glasgow and replicate it in 4 new areas - Edinburgh, Inverclyde, North and East Ayrshire - over a period of 7 years.

The total expenditure budget will be in the region of £7.4 million of which Inspiring Scotland will contribute £3.2 million, primarily in the earlier years.

Christine Glenn, Chief Executive of the Parole Board for England and Wales and Elaine Gibson-Bolton, Partner and EU, competition and regulatory law specialist at SJ Berwin LLP.
