The high level of young people who are not in employment, education or training (NEET) is one of the most serious social problems facing the country. There are just under 1 million young people who are NEET and there are important concerns that this problem may worsen. Rapidly rising unemployment has reduced the number of entry level jobs available for those leaving education.
"Without the sort of intensive support Tomorrow's People provides there is a danger that they won't get into the jobs market and will be resigned to lifelong worklessness. It is absolutely critical that we act now to help as many young people as we can to fulfill their potential."
Brian Gibson, National Manager - Young People's Services
